Our Service to You
Occupational therapy is all about helping people improve their ability to do daily tasks and live as independently as possible. It’s focused on helping patients accomplish all their routine tasks and engage in activities safely. At Sensory Works, we use the following phases to assist our patients reach their goals.
Initial Evaluation
Our patients begin with an one-hour evaluation with the therapist where data is gathered to form a plan of care for the patient. This will identify the goals and skills that we will be working to improve.
Intervention
These are tools, resources, and/or other changes in your environment or routine that help you complete tasks better and more efficiently, also assisting in reaching the goals in the plan of care.
Assessment
Assessments are an ongoing phase to adjust and tailor your interventions to meet your goals. Your therapist will monitor your progress and your mental and emotional health as you engage in Occuptational Therapy.
Outcomes
We adjust any interventions that aren’t working as planned and/or add new interventions to maximize your success through occupational therapy and ensure the best outcomes for our patients.
A therapeutic approach that utilizes the movement of a horse as a treatment tool in occupational therapy, physical therapy, and speech-language pathology. Hippotherapy involves using the horse's movement to engage sensory, neuromotor, and cognitive systems to promote functional outcomes.
